Let It Light Up Something Sacred Inside You

There is a certain kind of fire that does not ask for permission. It shows up when you have finally had enough—enough of shrinking, enough of staying quiet, enough of calling survival “normal.” And when it comes, it does not destroy you. It reveals you. It burns away everything that was never meant to hold you so you can finally stand in what is.

There Is a Fire That Does Not Ask

There is a certain kind of fire that does not ask for permission.

It does not knock politely.
It does not wait for your life to be convenient, your heart to be ready, your hands to stop shaking.

It shows up when you have finally had enough.

Enough of being quiet.
Enough of swallowing the truth so nobody else has to choke on it.
Enough of shrinking your spirit down to a size that made other people comfortable.
Enough of pretending the room wasn’t burning just because everyone else wanted to sit there and call it warmth.

When Something in You Ignites

At some point, something in you catches flame.

And thank God.

Because some things in your life were never meant to be gently released. Some things needed to be set down with both hands and never picked up again. Some things needed to turn to ash so you would stop trying to build a home out of what kept hurting you.

Let it light up something sacred inside you.

Let it wake up the woman who got buried under survival. The one who kept going when she was tired. The one who cried in private, fixed her face, and still showed up because life did not give her the luxury of falling apart for too long.

The one who learned how to carry pain so quietly that people mistook her strength for permission to keep adding weight.

Let that fire find her.
Let it call her by name.

You Did Not Survive to Stay Small

Let it remind her that she did not crawl through hell just to come out timid.

No.

She came out with smoke in her hair, truth in her mouth, and a backbone made from every prayer she whispered when nobody saw her breaking.

There is a holiness in the moment you stop asking, “Am I allowed?”

Allowed to leave.
Allowed to heal.
Allowed to want more.
Allowed to stop answering the phone.
Allowed to become someone they can no longer reach with the same old guilt.
Allowed to let the old version of you rest in peace without dragging her body into every new room you enter.

Baby, permission was never the prize.

Freedom was.

Freedom Has Teeth

And sometimes freedom has teeth.

Sometimes it looks a little wild.
Sometimes it sounds like your voice finally saying what your soul has known for years:

I cannot stay here and still be me.

Let it burn everything in the way.

Let it burn the guilt that made you loyal to your own exhaustion.
Let it burn the shame that convinced you silence was safer than truth.
Let it burn the old apologies you kept rehearsing for needing love, respect, softness, honesty, and peace.
Let it burn every place where you confused being chosen with being consumed.
Let it burn the memory of who you had to be to survive people who only loved you when you were easy to control.

Some Fires Are Mercy

And when it burns, do not panic.

Some fires are mercy wearing heat.
Some fires are God clearing the brush before something new can grow.
Some fires are the answer to prayers you were too tired to pray out loud.

Because you can love people and still leave.
You can forgive and still remember.
You can be soft and still become unavailable for anything that costs you your peace.
You can be thankful for the lesson and still refuse to repeat the class.

This Is Not Bitterness

That is where the attitude comes from.

It is not bitterness.

It is the sound of a woman who finally knows what almost losing herself cost. It is the calm stare after the storm. It is the quiet little smile when something that used to wreck you does not even get a reaction anymore.

It is looking at the life that tried to bury you and thinking:

You should have finished the job when you had the chance.

Because now you know.

You know what your nervous system sounds like when it is begging for peace. You know what fake love feels like. You know what it costs to abandon yourself for somebody else’s comfort.

And now that you know, you cannot unknow it.

What the Fire Leaves Behind

That is the sacred thing lighting up inside you.

Discernment.
Fire.
Self-respect.
A little softness with a sharp edge.

A heart that still believes in love, but no longer mistakes chaos for chemistry. A spirit that still gives thanks, but no longer volunteers for suffering just to prove it is strong.

Thank God for the fire.

Thank God for the endings that did what your fear could not. The closed doors. The unanswered texts. The truth that finally slipped out. The moment you looked around and realized you were done decorating a place that was never home.

Thank God for every hard day that handed you back to yourself.

Still Standing

Because look at you now.

Still tender.
Still standing.
Still able to love.
Still able to laugh.
Still able to look life in the face after everything and say:

I am not done yet.

Let it light up something sacred inside you.
Let it burn everything in the way.

And when the smoke clears, do not go searching through the ashes for what God already removed.

Stand there.
Lift your chin.
Feel the heat in your chest.

Then walk forward like a woman who has already survived the worst part.
